Xavi Simons has reportedly made a decision regarding his future ahead of the summer transfer window, with several of Europe’s top clubs – including Bayern Munich and multiple Premier League sides – showing serious interest.
The Dutch international has enjoyed an impressive campaign with RB Leipzig, continuing to fulfil the promise he showed as a former youth prodigy.
Simons joined Leipzig on loan from Paris Saint-Germain and impressed enough for the Bundesliga side to push for a permanent deal.
However, with Leipzig failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League, a move to a more ambitious club appears likely.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Simons has informed Leipzig of his intention to leave this summer.
The 22-year-old could remain in Germany by joining Bayern Munich or move to a fifth different country in his still-young career.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool have all been linked with Simons.
He rose to prominence at Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy before a high-profile switch to Paris Saint-Germain, eventually breaking out at senior level with PSV Eindhoven.
“I’m still a young player, I have many dreams – and the club knows that,” Simons said last month, hinting at his ambitions.
He added that a final decision on his next club will likely come after the Netherlands’ 2026 World Cup qualifiers in early June.
Leipzig, who are also bracing for offers for star striker Benjamin Sesko, are reportedly holding out for a fee of around €72million (£60million) for Simons.
