Liverpool fly to Chicago on Monday for the start of their pre-season tour of the United States, with Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Ryan Gravenberch set to rejoin the squad after their World Cup exits.

Head coach Andoni Iraola and a mixed group of senior players and academy prospects will be based in Chicago throughout the tour.

According to The Athletic’s James Pearce, Alexander Isak, Wirtz and Gravenberch are expected to link up with the squad this weekend after being eliminated in the World Cup round of 32.

The trio will miss Saturday’s friendly against Sunderland in Nashville but could feature against Wrexham in New York on July 30 or Leeds United in Chicago on August 2, depending on their fitness.

Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo could be given additional time off after the Netherlands’ exit to Morocco, although that has yet to be confirmed.

Alisson, who reached the last 16 with Brazil, is also expected to return later and could still join the squad during the U.S. tour.

Meanwhile, Alexis Mac Allister and Victor Munoz are not expected back until mid-August following their involvement in the World Cup final.

Munoz is entitled to a minimum three-week break under FIFA regulations, while Mac Allister played every minute in seven of Argentina’s eight matches, including Sunday’s final.
