LaLiga side Getafe have reportedly opened talks to sign Stefan Bajcetic this summer after the midfielder was again left without any minutes during Liverpool’s pre-season.

The 21-year-old returned early for pre-season and rejoined full training while Liverpool were in the United States, but has since been a notable absentee from the squad.

According to MARCA’s Matteo Moretto, Getafe are working on a deal for Bajcetic, with Fabrizio Romano adding that the Spanish club have “opened talks.”

It remains unclear whether Getafe are pursuing a loan or permanent transfer.

With Bajcetic’s Liverpool contract expiring next summer, however, the Reds would likely prefer to either agree a permanent deal or extend his contract before sending him out on loan.

Bajcetic’s Liverpool career has been disrupted by injuries, and he has not played competitively since May 2025.

Andoni Iraola is reportedly a big admirer of the midfielder, but his continued absence from pre-season could now pave the way for an exit.

Several LaLiga clubs have previously been linked with Bajcetic, including Sevilla, Rayo Vallecano and Elche.

A move to Getafe would see the Spaniard return to Spain after leaving Celta Vigo for Liverpool in 2020. He also spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Las Palmas.

If Stefan Bajcetic leaves permanently, Bajcetic could be among several Liverpool players to depart this summer, with Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa also facing uncertain futures.
