Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Victor Munoz from Osasuna, subject to a successful work permit application and international clearance.

The forward, who is currently with Spain at the World Cup, completed a medical in Tennessee and has signed a long-term contract at Anfield.

Victor Munoz becomes the first signing of the Andoni Iraola era and will join up with his new teammates after Spain’s World Cup campaign.

The 22-year-old earned his first two Spain caps earlier this year, scoring on his debut against Serbia in March. His international breakthrough followed an impressive season with Osasuna, where he registered seven goals and five assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

Munoz joined Osasuna from Real Madrid last summer after progressing through the youth systems of both Real Madrid and Barcelona. He spent three years at La Masia before moving to Damm and later joining Real Madrid in 2021.

After impressing for Real Madrid Castilla with 11 goals and seven assists in 34 appearances during the 2024-25 season, he made four senior appearances for Los Blancos before moving to Osasuna.

There, he enjoyed a breakout campaign, earning La Liga U23 Player of the Month awards in February and March and a nomination for the league’s U23 Player of the Season prize.

Known for his explosive pace, dribbling ability and versatility across the front line, Munoz is regarded as one of Spain’s brightest young talents.

Opta reported that his 12 completed dribbles against Rayo Vallecano was the highest total by any player in a single match across Europe’s top five leagues during the 2025-26 season.

Munoz is currently part of Spain’s World Cup squad, becoming the first active Osasuna player ever selected for a World Cup by La Roja.

He is Liverpool’s second addition ahead of the 2026-27 season following the previously agreed signing of Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes. Coincidentally, both players share the same birthday, July 13.

Munoz also becomes the first player to move directly from Osasuna to Liverpool, following in the footsteps of Sammy Lee and Michael Robinson, who represented both clubs during their careers.
