Liverpool are expected to make an improved offer for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh after having a £50million bid rejected, according to the Daily Mail.
The Gambia international is expected to remain sidelined until October after undergoing surgery on his right leg.
Liverpool have turned their attention back to Minteh after considering Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye too expensive, while talks for Bradley Barcola remain ongoing.
The Reds would ideally like to sign two forwards this summer following Mohamed Salah’s departure, with Yankuba Minteh now among their preferred targets. Minteh suffered his injury during Brighton’s pre-season win over Roma earlier this month.
He has made 73 appearances for the Seagulls since joining from Newcastle in a £30million deal in 2024, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists.
The 22-year-old primarily operates on the right wing but has also featured on the left.
The England international, who joined Liverpool at the age of nine, has been keen on a move to Serie A after struggling to establish himself as a regular starter at Anfield.
Liverpool are preparing for their first season under new manager Andoni Iraola, who replaced Arne Slot following the Dutchman’s departure at the end of last season.
After spending more than £450million on new signings last summer, including Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool struggled to replicate their previous campaign and finished fifth in the Premier League.
Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate have all left the club this summer, while Liverpool have so far signed centre-back Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes, winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna and Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo on a season-long loan for the 2026–27 campaign.
