Liverpool are unlikely to sell Andy Robertson to Tottenham during the current transfer window, according to BBC Sport.

The Reds considered a £5m offer from Spurs for the 31-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, but have decided not to proceed at this stage.

Although an agreement in principle was discussed last week, the move was contingent on Liverpool recalling Kostas Tsimikas from his loan at Roma – something they have so far been unable to do.

Liverpool’s situation has also been complicated by Joe Gomez’s injury in Saturday’s Premier League defeat at Bournemouth.

Andy Robertson was not actively pushing for a move, though the Scotland captain is keen for regular football ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

Signed from Hull City for £8m in 2017, he has made 364 appearances for Liverpool and won nine major trophies, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

While Milos Kerkez is now Arne Slot’s first-choice left-back, Robertson remains a key figure at Anfield. Virgil van Dijk recently described him as a “very important” member of the squad.

The transfer window closes on 2 February.
