Liverpool’s talks with Brighton for Yankuba Minteh are not progressing, according to Sky Sports.
Brighton are holding out for £80million after rejecting two bids from Liverpool, with the latest offer from Andoni Iraola’s side worth £60million.
Liverpool are currently unwilling to meet that valuation for Minteh, who is injured and expected to remain sidelined until October.
The Gambian international was viewed as the solution to Liverpool’s long-standing pursuit of a right winger following Mohamed Salah’s departure.
Minteh is now the latest in a growing list of wingers Liverpool have attempted and failed to sign this summer, alongside Yan Diomande, Bradley Barcola and Ibrahima Mbaye.
Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Liverpool are now “exploring different options” to Minteh.
Those options are narrowing, however, with Mbaye reportedly considering a move to another unnamed club and several other targets also ruled out.
Said El Mala has signed a new deal with Koln, while Liverpool’s enquiry for Real Madrid’s Endrick has been ruled out. Matias Fernandez-Pardo is also attracting interest from Newcastle.
Barcola remains the priority target for the left wing, but that pursuit has also gone cold.
There were claims that further talks over Barcola would take place on Tuesday, with Sky Sports reporting that there is optimism a deal can be struck with a week remaining before the deadline.
PSG had been demanding around £145million for the 23-year-old Frenchman, a figure Liverpool were understandably unwilling to meet.
Barcola was also left out of PSG’s opening league game of the season at the weekend.
