According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool currently consider Paris Saint-Germain’s asking price for Ibrahim Mbaye too high to proceed with a transfer.
PSG are reportedly demanding around €200 million for Mbaye and Bradley Barcola, another Liverpool target. The Premier League club’s valuation could therefore see negotiations stall.
Mbaye, 18, is expected to leave PSG this summer, while Liverpool are keen to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes.
Bradley Barcola remains their primary target, with Mbaye also being considered as an alternative for Andoni Iraola.
Romano posted on X: “Liverpool could add TWO wingers to the squad, especially if Cody Gakpo end up joining Tottenham. Barcola deal remain on as talks are ongoing with PSG, #LFC open to adding one more winger. Ibrahima Mbaye on list but currently too expensive.”
Barcola scored three goals for France at the 2026 World Cup and returned to PSG ahead of Wednesday’s Super Cup clash with Europa League winners Aston Villa.
Asked about Barcola’s future, Luis Enrique said: “I don’t know and I don’t want to speak about any player individually.
“Because it’s always dangerous when you are asking something positive or negative about a player. I stay focused on my team.”
Barcola only returned to Paris last Monday after the World Cup. He was an unused substitute as PSG secured a 2-1 win over Aston Villa to lift the UEFA Super Cup.
