Arne Slot opens up on January transfers after Conor Bradley injury

Bradley will miss the remainder of the campaign after sustaining ligament and bone damage to his knee during last week’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal

Arne Slot has indicated that Liverpool will remain attentive to the January transfer market following Conor Bradley’s season-ending knee injury, though he stopped short of guaranteeing any new arrivals.

Bradley will miss the remainder of the campaign after sustaining ligament and bone damage to his knee during last week’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal.

The right-back has since undergone surgery and, like centre-back Giovanni Leoni, is now targeting a return in time for pre-season.

The setback leaves Liverpool light in defensive numbers.

Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Andy Robertson, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez are currently the senior defensive options available to Slot, with Calvin Ramsay providing additional cover.

When asked whether Bradley’s injury had altered the club’s approach to the January window, Arne Slot insisted that “everyone is aligned” on Liverpool’s needs, but added that “that’s not to say that we’re going to act.”

“I think everyone is aligned about the challenges we are facing,” he told reporters on Friday.

“That’s not to say that we’re going to act, but everyone is aligned on what we are facing.

“There is no one that has a different opinion about it. But that’s not to say that anything is going to happen.”
