Antoine Semenyo has warned Liverpool that Manchester City are “fired up” for Sunday’s crucial clash at Anfield.
Pep Guardiola has won just once at Anfield in 10 visits since taking charge of City in 2016, with that victory coming behind closed doors during the Covid-19 pandemic.
With City chasing Arsenal in the title race, Guardiola can ill afford another setback.
Antoine Semenyo says the pressure is on City to deliver, with the champions fully motivated for one of the season’s biggest showdowns.
He said: “As an outsider before joining here, it was always entertaining watching City and Liverpool. To be part of it, I’m so grateful, but it’s going to be a challenge.
“But we’re prepared for it and we’ll be fired up for it on the day. I’m looking forward to the game.”
Marc Guehi has, meanwhile, warned Arsenal that Manchester City will only get stronger between now and the end of the season and fully believe they can win another title.
Guehi said: “We’re definitely going in the right direction. It’s important we keep improving as a team.
“Winning games is massive and big in any competition, so as long as we keep going like that, I don’t see why we can’t achieve our goals this season.”
