Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool after season

'Because of all of you, I will never walk alone,' said the Egyptain in his farewell message to Liverpool fans in a social media post

Mohamed Salah earlier this evening dropped the news that many Liverpool fans across the world feared to hear, as he took to social media to announce that he will be leaving the Club at the end of the 2025/2026 season.

The Egyptian king, as he is well known, will bring the curtain down on his illustrious career with Liverpool in May after 9 years leading the Reds’ attack.

A statement on the Club’s official website read, “The forward has reached an agreement with the Reds that will see him close a remarkable nine-year chapter at Anfield.

Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future due to his respect and gratitude for them.

Signed from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, the No.11 has firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history, helping the club to two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, and two League Cups, as well as an FA Community Shield.

His tally of 255 goals in 435 appearances to date has the Egyptian sitting third on the Reds’ all-time leading goalscorers chart, winning the Premier League Golden Boot on four occasions in addition to a host of personal accolades.”

Mohamed Salah posted a heartwarming video on his Instagram and X social media accounts shortly after 18:30 local time in the UK, with millions of fans and teammates, both past and present, pouring out glowing tributes to a remarkable servant of the Club.

The 33-year-old will not only go down as one of the best players to ever wear the Liverpool shirt, but also as a true Premier League great.

In his farewell video, Mohamed Salah shared these emotional words

“Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

“I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become part of my life.

“Liverpool is not just a football club. It’s a passion. It’s a history. It’s a spirit I can’t explain in words to anyone not part of this club.

“We celebrated victory, we won the most important trophies, and we fought together through the hardest time in our lives.

“I want to thank everyone who was part of this club throughout my time here, especially the teammates, past and present, and the fans…
