Manchester United suffer major setback in pursuit of Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz

With four goals in 19 appearances this season, Yildiz is emerging as one of Europe's most promising young talents

Manchester United have reportedly hit a major obstacle in their pursuit of Juventus wonderkid Kenan Yildiz.

According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, United have been closely monitoring Yildiz’s development at Juventus, where the 19-year-old forward has been making waves.

With four goals in 19 appearances this season, Yildiz is emerging as one of Europe’s most promising young talents.

Kenan Yildiz is reportedly high on United’s shortlist for a potential attacking midfield signing in the summer transfer window, underscoring the club’s desire to strengthen their creative options.

However, despite the interest from Old Trafford, the player has no intention of leaving Juventus.

Yildiz is reportedly happy at the club, where he enjoys strong support from fans and is committed to continuing his journey with the Turin-based side.

His current contract runs until 2029, further cementing his future with Juventus.

Born in Germany, Yildiz began his footballing journey at Regensburg before joining Bayern Munich’s youth system at the age of seven.

After progressing through Bayern’s ranks, he made a surprising move to Juventus as a free agent in the summer of 2022.

Yildiz quickly adapted to life at Juventus, earning a spot in the senior squad and being entrusted with the iconic Number 10 jersey, signaling the club’s belief in his potential.

A fan of Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero, Yildiz has even adopted Del Piero’s signature tongue-out celebration, further endearing himself to the club’s supporters.

Yildiz made history earlier this season by becoming the youngest Juventus player to score a Champions League goal, netting against PSV Eindhoven at the age of 19 years and 136 days, surpassing Del Piero’s previous record (20 years and 308 days).

With Yildiz focused on his development at Juventus, it seems Manchester United will have to turn their attention elsewhere in their search for attacking reinforcements.

The young forward is expected to feature in Juventus’ upcoming Serie A clash against Bologna on Saturday, continuing to impress under the management of Thiago Motta.
