Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal have completed the signing of Darwin Nunez from Liverpool, subject to international clearance.
The Uruguayan’s three-year spell at Anfield comes to an end after finalising a move to the Saudi Pro League side today.
Nunez leaves Liverpool having made 143 appearances and scored 40 goals, winning both the Premier League and Carabao Cup during his time at the club.
Signed from Benfica in the summer of 2022, the striker made an immediate impact, scoring on his competitive debut to help Jurgen Klopp’s side lift the FA Community Shield with victory over Manchester City.
In his first season, Nunez netted 15 times in 42 appearances across all competitions and was twice named Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month.
He built on that tally in his second campaign, scoring 18 goals – including a memorable brace off the bench at Newcastle United to seal a dramatic late comeback.
The 2024-25 season proved to be his last in a Liverpool shirt, ending on the highest of notes as he lifted the Premier League trophy.
Among his standout moments was a pair of stoppage-time goals away at Brentford in January, a decisive contribution in a historic title-winning campaign.
