Alexander Isak is eager to build on his goalscoring start after netting three times in 2026-27, including two outstanding finishes in Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Ipswich.
After an injury-hit debut season, Isak has started all four matches this term, playing 332 minutes.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash with Fulham, he explained why he is “feeling good” and determined to build on that platform.
“Firstly, really good that the season has started again – obviously you miss it being away,” said the Sweden international.
“I’m feeling good with the pre-season and the start of the season as well, scoring a couple of goals. It’s just about keeping this rhythm.
“That [his display versus Ipswich] is how I want to play and that’s how I want to score goals. I was certainly happy with that. But as I said, it’s early days and I’ve got to keep going.
“I feel good, I feel like I’m in a good place. With the team as well, we’re getting better and better. We want to keep this rhythm.”
Alexander Isak suffered an ankle injury, including a fibula fracture, while scoring against Tottenham Hotspur last December, limiting him to just 13 starts for Liverpool last season.
He said he tried to take positives from the frustrating period and praised the support from Kopites.
“It has been challenging of course, with a lot of injuries especially,” Isak said of the past 12 months.
“But there have been some beautiful moments as well, good learning moments. I take all of that as stuff to help me get better and get stronger, not looking back too much and just focusing on what’s ahead.
“[The backing of Liverpool fans] means a lot. Obviously, I’ve known and seen how brilliant the fans are at this football club.
“I was really excited about coming here and being a part of that relationship between the club and the players and the fans. You can really feel that. It’s really something valuable.
“It’s brilliant support all the time, even during difficult times for the team. They have been brilliant so far as long as I’ve been here.”
Isak was joined in Liverpool’s starting XI by Bradley Barcola for the first time since the Frenchman’s arrival from Paris Saint-Germain.
Isak is now looking forward to regularly linking up with Barcola.
“Of course, it’s a big signing for us and he’s a great player that we all know very well from what he’s done previously,” said Isak.
“I’m sure he’s going to be someone to help make us much better as a team. So, we’re really excited.”
