Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has provided the latest updates on the fitness of Alisson Becker, Federico Chiesa, and Diogo Jota.
During his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion, Slot was asked about the status of the trio.
Unfortunately, Slot confirmed that all three players will be unavailable until at least after the November international break.
“I think I said it already a few times that it is always difficult to tell you exactly when they are ready because especially the last phase of the recovery can always be a few days extra or less,” Slot told the media of Alisson and Jota.
“The fact is that they are not there before the international break and let’s see if they can join us after.”
He added: “Chiesa is not back before the international break, but there is only a week to go.
“We are hoping he can do things again during the international break and that he can join us afterwards.”
Chiesa has been sidelined for a month due to various fitness issues, leading to growing frustration regarding his availability.
For Slot and his coaching staff, managing Chiesa’s return is a gradual process, especially considering he was unable to participate in a normal pre-season program after being frozen out at Juventus.
As a result, Chiesa will not be available for the upcoming three matches against Brighton, Bayer Leverkusen, and Aston Villa.
However, the head coach remains hopeful that Chiesa can make progress in his recovery during the international break, likely spending more time at the AXA Training Centre.
