Arne Slot says Ibrahima Konate is available for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
Konate was substituted at half-time during Saturday’s Premier League victory over Brighton & Hove Albion after sustaining an arm injury.
However, Konate reassured fans via social media on Sunday that the issue was “not serious.”
In today’s pre-match press conference, Arne Slot informed reporters that the centre-back is in contention for selection against the Bundesliga champions at Anfield.
“Yeah, he is available to play,” said the head coach.
“And I think also completely recovered, so there is no issue for him to not play because of what he had.
“Then it is up to me to make the decision if he plays or not. But he is in a good place.”
While Liverpool will have Konate available for the match, they will still be without the services of Alisson Becker, Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott, and Diogo Jota.
The quartet were again absent from training on Monday, with manager Slot confirming that they are expected to remain sidelined until after the November international break.
“It is always difficult to tell you exactly when they are ready because especially the last phase of the recovery can always be a few days extra or less,” he said.
“The fact is that they [Alisson and Jota] are not there before the international break and let’s see if they can join us after.
“Chiesa is not back before the international break, but there is only a week to go.
“We are hoping he can do things again during the international break and that he can join us afterwards.”
