Curtis Jones and Alisson Becker set to miss PSG clash

Jones was substituted at half-time during Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Anfield after receiving treatment shortly before the break.

Arne Slot expects Curtis Jones to miss Tuesday evening’s clash after picking up an injury against Fulham on Saturday.

The midfielder was substituted at half-time during Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Anfield after receiving treatment shortly before the break.

Speaking after the match, Arne Slot confirmed Curtis Jones suffered a groin issue and is likely to miss the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

“He felt a little bit his groin. It wasn’t the moment – he felt it already for a few minutes,” Slot told Sky Sports.

“So, let’s hope for the best but I would be surprised if a player who comes off that he’s available for Tuesday.”

Slot also confirmed in his press conference that goalkeeper Alisson Becker will remain sidelined for the upcoming meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.

“Tuesday I don’t expect him. He’s not training with the team yet,” said Slot.

“But he’s working very hard on his recovery, so we hope to have him back in the near future. But he doesn’t train with the team yet, so he will not be performing [on] Tuesday.”
