Liverpool agree €95m deal to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt

The deal reportedly came after renewed talks on Sunday

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign forward Hugo Ekitike, according to multiple sources in Germany.

The deal reportedly came after renewed talks on Sunday.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Reds will pay a total package worth €95million to secure Ekitike on a contract running until 2031.

He posted on X: “Hugo #Ekitike to Liverpool is considered a done deal! A full agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt in principle has now been reached after new talks today.

“Transfer fee: €95 million with add-ons included. Contract until 2031. Medical to take place soon. The next big sale by Markus Krösche.”

While manager Arne Slot’s side initially showed interest in signing Alexander Isak, they quickly abandoned the pursuit after Newcastle set a price tag exceeding €150 million for the Sweden international.

Instead, Liverpool have turned their focus to the French striker, who scored 22 goals in all competitions for Frankfurt last season.

Ekitike’s arrival could accelerate the departure of Darwin Núñez from Anfield, with Napoli believed to be keen on signing the Uruguayan forward.

Ekitike is poised to sign a six-year contract with Liverpool, which would keep him at the club until 2031.

This deal will mark Liverpool’s second-largest signing of the summer.

Frankfurt valued Ekitike between €90million (£78m) and €100million (£86.7m), with the higher figure matching his release clause.

Liverpool have already demonstrated their readiness to spend big this summer, breaking the British transfer record by signing Florian Wirtz for £116million.
