Jeremy Jacquet has won Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month award for August and September after impressing during his first months at Anfield.
The summer signing from Stade Rennais beat Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak to the award following a supporters’ poll on Liverpoolfc.com.
The 21-year-old defender featured in all seven of Liverpool’s matches during the opening two months of the 2026-27 season, starting six.
He made his debut in the 2-2 draw away to Newcastle United on the opening weekend.
Jeremy Jacquet also helped Liverpool record three consecutive Premier League clean sheets in September, earning a nomination for the division’s Player of the Month award.
He subsequently made his first two senior appearances for France during the international break.
Offering his reaction at the AXA Training Centre, Jacquet said: “Just to say thank you – thank you to my teammates, thank you to the fans for this award.
“I’m really happy.”
The centre-back has embraced the intensity of English football and is preparing for another battle when Liverpool face Brentford on Saturday.
Having started all six of Liverpool’s Premier League games, Jacquet stressed the importance of responding to the defeat against Manchester City after their midweek Champions League victory over LASK.
“It’s going to be a big game for us,” he told Liverpoolfc.com. “The manager has already told us that it’s going to be a battle all over the field.
“However, we’ve been working hard in training, even though time has been a bit short. And we will be ready for tomorrow.
“I think that we’ve already shown how we can bounce back over in Austria but now it’s important to get back to winning ways, this time in the Premier League.”
He continued: “I hope I can remain in this decent run of form. Things have been going well up to now, even though it’s still only early in the season.
“I’ll be trying hard to keep performance levels high.
“There are quite a few differences [playing in the Premier League] really. But I find that the biggest difference of all is the intensity of the duels and individual battles.
“Not the general intensity throughout the whole match but rather I’d say there are more one-on-one battles to contend with during the 90 minutes.”
