Liverpool considering January move for West Ham star Mohammed Kudus

Kudus was heavily linked with a move away from West Ham last summer but ultimately stayed at the London Stadium

Liverpool are reportedly considering a move to sign West Ham star Mohammed Kudus in the January transfer window.

Should they decide to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season, the Reds will be able to make new signings in just a few weeks.

Kudus was heavily linked with a move away from West Ham last summer but ultimately stayed at the London Stadium.

Liverpool were among the clubs credited with an interest in the Ghana international, who is said to have an £85million release clause in his contract.

Arne Slot made just one addition to Liverpool’s squad last summer, with the arrival of Federico Chiesa.

The Reds also signed Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, although the goalkeeper is currently on loan at the La Liga club until the summer of 2025, when he will officially join Liverpool.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Liverpool are in the race to potentially submit an offer for Kudus when the transfer window opens in January.

However, they are expected to face competition from Arsenal and Newcastle for his signature.

The report also suggests that Liverpool assistant coach John Heitinga, who previously worked with Kudus at Ajax, could give the Reds an edge in negotiations.

Mohammed Kudus is reportedly valued at £90million, with the £85million release clause set to become active next summer.

As the January window approaches, speculation around Liverpool’s plans will likely intensify.

Kudus has scored two goals in 12 appearances for West Ham this season, with his most recent goal coming in October against Tottenham Hotspur, a match that also saw him receive a red card.
