Liverpool defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe closing in on loan move to Levante

A loan spell in La Liga would help Ndukwe earn the points required to secure a UK work permit when he returns to Liverpool

Ifeanyi Ndukwe is closing in on a loan move to Spanish side Levante, according to Sky Sport Austria.

The 18-year-old Austrian centre-back, who impressed during Liverpool’s pre-season, is unable to remain at Anfield this season as he does not currently qualify for a UK work permit.

Liverpool have received several offers for Ndukwe, with talks over a move to Levante progressing, although some details are still to be finalised.

A loan spell in La Liga would help Ndukwe earn the points required to secure a UK work permit when he returns to Liverpool.

Ifeanyi Ndukwe joined the Reds from Austria Vienna this summer after Liverpool agreed a £2.5 million deal in January. He had impressed the club’s recruitment staff at the Under-17 World Cup in Qatar.

His commanding pre-season displays earned praise from new head coach Andoni Iraola, but Liverpool have been forced to seek a temporary move due to his work permit situation.
