Liverpool are reportedly expected to sign 17-year-old centre-back El Hadj Mor Talla Ndiaye, though any move would be delayed until 2027 due to post-Brexit regulations.
El Hadj Mor Talla Ndiaye, a left-footed defender currently with Senegalese second-tier side Amitie FC, impressed at the U17 World Cup last year, playing every match for Senegal.
According to journalist Saikou Seydi, Liverpool are expected to complete an agreement in the coming days.
However, as English clubs cannot sign overseas players under 18, El Hadj Mor Talla Ndiaye – who turns 18 in January 2027 – would not move to Merseyside immediately.
A similar situation applies to Ifeanyi Ndukwe, another 17-year-old centre-back Liverpool are in talks with, who could join after his 18th birthday this summer.
Liverpool are actively strengthening their youth defence, with Celtic’s 15-year-old Dara Jikiemi also expected to arrive. Current U21 options include Amara Nallo,
Carter Pinnington and Wellity Lucky, while first-team depth has been boosted by Joe Gomez’s return from injury.
Despite this, Liverpool remain in the market for a senior centre-back after missing out on Marc Guehi, with Maxence Lacroix, Nathan Collins and Joel Ordonez among the names linked.
