Liverpool not pursuing Tottenham defender Djed Spence move

Liverpool have no intention of making a summer move for Djed Spence despite their defensive injury concerns.
Spence impressed for England at the World Cup but faces an uncertain future at Tottenham, with Roberto De Zerbi reshaping his squad. Spurs are open to offers for the 25-year-old, who is valued at around £35million.
Inter Milan and AC Milan were previously linked, while Liverpool were also mentioned as a possible destination.
However, the Liverpool Echo reports that Djed Spence is not under consideration, with the Reds having “absolutely no intention” of signing him this summer.
Andoni Iraola has seen only Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz arrive since replacing Arne Slot, while several defensive injuries have disrupted pre-season.
Virgil van Dijk is returning to full fitness, Joe Gomez suffered an injury in the opening friendly, Jacquet is recovering from a shoulder issue, and Conor Bradley remains sidelined with a knee injury.
Despite those setbacks, Liverpool are not currently looking at defensive reinforcements. Their priority remains signing an attacking player following Mohamed Salah’s departure.
Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola remains a major target, although PSG are demanding more than £100million for the France international.
Ibrahim Mbaye has also emerged as a cheaper alternative, while Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh, Köln’s Said El Mala and Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo are among other attacking options being considered.
Liverpool will play two more pre-season friendlies against Monaco and Como before beginning their Premier League campaign against Newcastle on August 23.
