Bayern Munich have submitted a new offer to Liverpool for Luis Díaz, with the proposal valued at over €67.5million, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.
Diaz is keen on making the move to the Bundesliga champions and is now waiting for an agreement to be reached.
The Colombian winger is prepared to sign a long-term contract that would run until at least 2029. However, the deal is not yet finalised and could still fall through if the clubs fail to agree on terms.
Plettenberg posted on X: “FC Bayern have submitted their new offer to Liverpool for Luis #Diaz worth more than €67.5 million.
“Talks between the clubs are ongoing. As reported, Díaz wants to join Bayern and is waiting for an agreement between the clubs.
“He can sign a contract running at least until 2029. The deal could still fall through.”
While Liverpool would prefer to keep the 28-year-old, they are prepared to consider a sale at the right price.
Liverpool would recoup the £50million they paid to Porto in 2022, with additional funds helping to boost the club’s finances and meet the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).
That said, Liverpool will need to weigh the financial benefits against the potential loss of a key attacking player.
Diaz featured in 50 games last season, starting 38 times, logging the seventh-highest minutes in the squad, and contributing 17 goals and five assists.
With Diogo Jota’s passing and the likely departures of Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa, letting go of their primary No. 9 from last season could be a risky gamble for Arne Slot’s side.
Bayern missed out on signing Florian Wirtz earlier this summer, and with Jamal Musiala expected to be sidelined for several months due to a broken leg and dislocated ankle, the club urgently need a left-sided attacker.
The Saudi Pro League remains another realistic option for Diaz, but he is reportedly holding out for a move to Bayern, according to Plettenberg.
“Luis Diaz has not only informed Liverpool of his desire to leave, but has now also made it clear to LFC that he would like to join FC Bayern if possible,” Plettenberg posted on X.
