Liverpool sign KRC Genk goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans; Harvey Elliott completes loan to Valencia

Brughmans has signed a long-term contract with the Reds at the AXA Training Centre

Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from KRC Genk.

The 18-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the Reds at the AXA Training Centre. He will now return to Genk and remain with the Belgian top-flight side for the 2026-27 season.

After 32 appearances for Genk’s reserve team, Brughmans made his senior debut in April 2026. He retained his place for the remainder of the campaign, making 10 further league appearances.

Lucca Brughmans has also started all four of Genk’s matches so far this season.

He captained Belgium at both the U17 European Championship and U17 World Cup in 2025 and is now captain of his country’s U19 side.

“Very happy and grateful,” said Brughmans. “A huge step and an incredible opportunity.

“I’m proud, excited and looking forward to what lies ahead at this historic club, with the dream of one day wearing the shirt and playing at Anfield.”

Elsewhere, Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has joined Valencia on loan for the rest of the 2026-27 season. The 23-year-old completed his move to the La Liga club before the summer transfer window closed.

Elliott joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2019, making 149 appearances and scoring 15 goals. He won Premier League titles in 2019-20 and 2024-25, as well as the UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, League Cup and FA Cup.

He spent last season on loan at Aston Villa before returning to Liverpool in the summer.

Liverpool forward Keyrol Figueroa has also joined Port Vale on loan for the 2026-27 season. The striker, who turned 20 on Monday, will spend the remainder of the campaign with the League Two club.

Figueroa joined Liverpool’s Academy at U14 level and started the U21s’ opening two Premier League 2 games this season. Last term, he scored 12 goals in 15 PL2 appearances.

He made the senior matchday squad for Liverpool’s Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Crystal Palace in October 2025.

Figueroa is now a senior international with Honduras, making his debut against Argentina this summer after previously representing the USA at youth level.
