Liverpool-linked defender Marc Guehi has fuelled further transfer speculation following Crystal Palace’s goalless draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The 24-year-old centre-back was named in Oliver Glasner’s starting XI despite uncertainty surrounding his future, with Liverpool maintaining strong interest as the transfer window enters its final two weeks.
Guehi has less than 12 months left on his contract at Selhurst Park, leaving Palace facing the possibility of selling him now to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Having captained the Eagles in their Community Shield victory over Liverpool last weekend, Guehi once again played the full 90 minutes against his former club Chelsea.
After the match, Glasner praised the defender’s professionalism, alongside that of Eberechi Eze – another Palace star attracting interest, with Tottenham among the suitors.
“There’s a lot of rumours about Eberechi and Marc Guehi, but I think everyone who watched the game saw they’re 100% with this group, with this group and it’s what we expect from our players that they give 100%,” he told Sky Sports.
“We rely on each other and they proved it in a brilliant way.”
However, Sky Sports later shared footage that appeared to show Guehi ignoring manager Oliver Glasner at full-time.
The Palace boss was seen calling the defender’s name several times as he made his way towards the tunnel.
Guehi briefly turned to Glasner and seemed to shake his head before continuing down the tunnel.
Glasner then turned to the travelling supporters and appeared to ask Jean-Philippe Mateta about the defender.
