Liverpool to bid more than €100m for RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande

t has been a remarkable rise for Yan Diomande, who was signed by Leipzig from Leganes last summer for £17.3m.

Liverpool are prepared to make Yan Diomande one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history, with a €100million (£86m) package already put forward to RB Leipzig for the highly rated winger.

However, the offer has been rejected, with Leipzig determined to retain the Ivory Coast international and tie him down to a new contract.

Talks between the clubs have been ongoing for several weeks and intensified significantly on Thursday. Despite Liverpool’s willingness to commit a substantial fee, no breakthrough has yet been reached.

Leipzig are understood to value Yan Diomande at around €130million (£112m), reflecting both his importance to the team and his outstanding rise over the past year. The Bundesliga club are reluctant sellers and remain focused on securing his long-term future.

Liverpool and Leipzig have built a strong working relationship through deals involving Naby Keita, Ibrahima Konaté and Dominik Szoboszlai, while Fabio Carvalho also spent time on loan in Germany. However, Leipzig have so far remained firm in their stance over the 19-year-old.

Diomande remains Liverpool’s priority attacking target following the arrival of Spain international Victor Munoz from Osasuna. Alternative options being monitored include Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yankuba Minteh, FC Köln’s Said El Mala and Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Diomande, but Liverpool are believed to be in a stronger position in discussions with the player’s representatives. The opportunity to replace Mohamed Salah at Anfield is thought to be an attractive prospect for the winger.

Diomande enhanced his reputation with an excellent 2025-26 campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances.

He is currently representing Ivory Coast at the World Cup and is regarded as one of the most exciting young attacking talents in world football.

With Salah having departed and Andoni Iraola looking to reshape Liverpool’s attack, Diomande has emerged as a key target as the club continues its summer recruitment drive.
