Sacked Premier League referee David Coote spotted for the first time

The referee had been placed under investigation after a video surfaced in which he referred to former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp using offensive language

David Coote has been seen for the first time since his dismissal by the PGMOL earlier this week.

The referee had been placed under investigation after a video surfaced in which he referred to former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp using offensive language.

Coote was sacked on Monday, with PGMOL confirming that he had “seriously breached” his contract.

Coote was spotted leaving a gym in the Midlands, wearing a pink hoodie and black tracksuit bottoms.

He was seen carrying a water bottle and a cup of either coffee or tea.

A PGMOL statement on Monday read: “Following the conclusion of a thorough investigation into David Coote’s conduct, his employment with PGMOL has been terminated today with immediate effect.

“David Coote’s actions were found to be in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract, with his position deemed untenable.

“Supporting David Coote continues to be important to us and we remain committed to his welfare. David Coote has a right to appeal the decision to terminate his employment.”

David Coote was suspended by the PGMOL in November after an old video clip went viral, showing him referring to former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp as a “German c***.”

In the same video, Coote allegedly called Liverpool “s***.”

The referee was later involved in further controversy when a second video surfaced, showing him appearing to snort a white powder.

Following this, UEFA removed Coote from their match list for a Nations League game during the international break last month, while FIFA also began investigating his part-time role with them.
