Liverpool have no plans to stage an Anfield farewell for Mohamed Salah on Saturday as the club aim to protect any potential future transfer fee.
Several Saudi Arabian clubs are prepared to do “whatever it takes” to sign the forward, with official bids expected next month.
However, no concrete offers have yet been submitted despite widespread interest.
Liverpool’s stance remains that Salah is under contract until 2027, and they have no intention of giving the impression that the player has no route back into the squad.
A public farewell, such as Salah waving to supporters on the pitch, would undermine the club’s position in any negotiations, with Liverpool confident they would be entitled to a significant fee should he depart.
The 33-year-old is still awaiting confirmation on whether he will be included in the squad for Saturday’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion.
The team returned from Italy on Wednesday following their Champions League victory over Inter Milan.
Thursday is a scheduled day off, while Friday will be key as players learn whether they are selected for the weekend.
Non-playing members of the squad are routinely expected to attend home fixtures.
Salah is set to join up with Egypt after Saturday for their Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Morocco.
