Alexander Isak and Giorgi Mamardashvili have returned to training ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Chelsea F.C. on Saturday.
Isak missed last weekend’s game against Manchester United F.C. due to a minor injury, while Mamardashvili has not featured since suffering a leg wound in last month’s Merseyside derby.
However, both players are now back in contention for the Premier League encounter at Anfield.
“Alex trains with us again,” said head coach Arne Slot at his pre-match press conference today. “Only yesterday for the first time. So that’s a positive.
“Yesterday he did parts of it, so hopefully he can do parts – or everything – today and let’s then see how much we’re going to use him tomorrow.
“Giorgi will train with us today for the first time so let’s see how he’s going to react.”
Alisson Becker and Mohamed Salah have not yet returned to team training and remain unavailable for selection.
“Alisson not yet, doesn’t train with us yet but very close to,” said Slot.
“Mo [has] also not trained with us yet but is also, like Ali, getting very, very, very close to training with us.”
