Alexis Mac Allister is determined to make an even bigger mark at Liverpool, striving to contribute more goals and assists as the season progresses.
The Argentine midfielder showcased his impact once again by netting a crucial goal in Liverpool’s 2-0 Champions League triumph over Real Madrid last week.
Mac Allister broke the deadlock with a composed finish after a smart one-two with Conor Bradley on the edge of the box.
Sliding the ball past Thibaut Courtois in front of an ecstatic Kop, it was a moment of brilliance that underlined his growing influence in Jürgen Klopp’s side.
The goal was Mac Allister’s second of the season, following his earlier strike against Bologna in October.
Wearing the No.10 shirt, the World Cup winner has set himself the challenge of increasing his goal contributions to help Liverpool maintain their dominant form in both the Premier League and Europe.
With the Reds leading the way domestically and on the continental stage, Mac Allister’s ambition and hunger for improvement could be pivotal as they push for silverware on multiple fronts.
“Dreams are there to be fulfilled,” Alexis Mac Allister reflected on that personal moment versus Real.
“I have been achieving things that even in my best dreams I could not have imagined and I am very happy for my present. I enjoy it very much and I am grateful for life.
“It was special to beat a club like Real Madrid, with so much history and with the team that they have, the players and the individuals that they have.
“It’s up to me to continue. I like to score goals, I like to assist. I also want to put some emphasis on that, on improving my numbers. I think I can do that.
“So, I’m happy for what I’m achieving, but at the same time I always want a little bit more.”
