Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has firmly dismissed rumours linking his club with a move for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
With Salah approaching the final six months of his contract at Liverpool, speculation has increased over his future.
As of January, the Egyptian forward will be free to negotiate with overseas clubs regarding a potential summer transfer. Recently, PSG were reported to be in a strong position to secure Salah’s signature.
However, when questioned about the speculation, Nasser Al-Khelaifi was quick to deny any interest in signing the 32-year-old on a free transfer, putting an end to the rumours.
“It’s not true,” he told Sky Sports Germany. “He’s a fantastic and amazing player, but we’ve never considered him, to be honest.
“We know every club would love to have him, but this rumour about us is simply not true.”
Al-Khelaifi did, however, admit that PSG will “explore opportunities” in January if any potential deals arise.
Salah is believed to be frustrated with Liverpool’s lack of progress on offering him a new contract, with a short-term extension reportedly being a satisfactory outcome for the 32-year-old.
Public comments suggesting that the recent meeting with Manchester City could be his final encounter with the Cityzens at Anfield have been dismissed by manager Arne Slot, who has repeatedly stated that he will not discuss Salah’s future publicly.
