Alexis Mac Allister remains committed to Liverpool despite there still being no talks over extending his contract.
Mac Allister has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield throughout the season, with Real Madrid the most persistent suitors.
Speculation has intensified due to uncertainty surrounding the 27-year-old’s long-term future at Liverpool following an underwhelming individual campaign that has mirrored that of Arne Slot’s side.
While fellow midfielders Ryan Gravenberch signed a new six-year contract earlier this year and Dominik Szoboszlai is in discussions over an extension, Liverpool have yet to approach Mac Allister regarding a renewal.
His father and representative, Carlos Mac Allister, has confirmed there has been no change in the situation surrounding the Argentina international.
Despite fitness concerns that disrupted his pre-season preparations, Alexis Mac Allister has featured in all but two games for Liverpool this season, contributing five goals and seven assists.
“Alexis has a valid contract until June 2028 and so far we are not speaking publicly with any other club,” he said to winwin.com.
“We believe that the club’s fans deserve this level of respect from the player, and so far the club has not negotiated with us to renew the contract.”
