Alisson Becker raises concerns over potential spell on sidelines

The Brazilian will miss Saturday’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion, with Giorgi Mamardashvili set to deputise

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has raised concerns over a potential spell on the sidelines after stating he will be “out of action for a while” in an Instagram post.

The Brazilian will miss Saturday’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion, with Giorgi Mamardashvili set to deputise, and has withdrawn from the Brazil squad for the upcoming international break.

Alisson had recently returned from a minor muscle issue—featuring in the draw with Tottenham Hotspur and the 4-0 win over Galatasaray—but was absent from the squad that travelled on Friday.

Arne Slot is expected to provide an update, with Liverpool next facing Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals on April 4.

Posting on Instagram on Saturday morning Alisson wrote: “Unfortunately I’ll be out of action for a while. Already working hard to be back stronger. Thank you for the support.”
