Bournemouth expecting official bids for Liverpool target Antoine Semenyo in January
The 25-year-old forward has a release clause of £65m

Bournemouth are bracing themselves for official bids for Antoine Semenyo in January, with clubs including Liverpool reportedly finalising plans for the mid-season transfer window, according to The Telegraph.
The 25-year-old forward has a release clause of £65m, active for a limited period in January.
It remains unclear whether the fee would need to be paid in full immediately or could be spread over instalments.
Sources at the Vitality Stadium expect approaches for the Ghana international once the window opens in five weeks, with his release fee considered relatively modest for a Premier League player of his calibre.
Antoine Semenyo has attracted interest across Europe following a strong start to the season, scoring six goals, including a memorable brace at Anfield on the opening weekend.
Liverpool are already familiar with the forward, as their sporting director Richard Hughes was at Bournemouth when Semenyo joined from Bristol City in 2023.
At the time, Bournemouth beat Crystal Palace to secure his signature for £10m.
The Reds, meanwhile, spent over £400m during the summer transfer window, breaking the Premier League record to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle, while also adding attacking talents Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
Pep Guardiola recently described Semenyo as an “extraordinary” player ahead of Bournemouth’s visit to Manchester City.
Semenyo will miss the upcoming African Cup of Nations, as Ghana failed to qualify for the tournament next month.
Having his release clause active in January would also allow Bournemouth time to find a replacement should he leave after two years at the club.
Semenyo had turned down £50m offers from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur to sign a new five-year deal with Bournemouth, which included a pay rise but also a specific release clause.
The forward would not have agreed to the contract otherwise.
It is understood the release clause will decrease slightly next summer but will remain above the £50m mark rejected during the last transfer window.
