Harvey Elliott has provided the latest transfer update as he considers his future at Liverpool this summer.
The 22-year-old made just one Premier League start last season, which came in a 3-2 defeat to Brighton after the Reds had already secured the title.
His prospects have become even more uncertain following the arrival of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for a club-record £116million last month.
Elliott has struggled for regular minutes since Arne Slot took over as head coach last year, with Brighton and Borussia Dortmund previously linked with a potential move for the midfielder.
Speaking after an open training session at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on Thursday, Elliott – a lifelong Liverpool fan – reiterated his desire to remain at his boyhood club long-term.
However, he admitted that securing a place in England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup is weighing heavily on his mind.
Elliott told The Anfield Wrap: “If I had it my way I would be here for the rest of my career, it’s as simple as that.
“I love everything about the club, but at the same time I kind of need to be selfish and see what’s best for me. I have big ambitions. I want to get in the World Cup squad.
“I want to keep being successful as a player. It’s something I still need to review. I need to have a talk with everyone and review the situation. we have many new players who have come in so whether it blocks the path for me I’m not sure.
“It’s something I need to have a look at and decide.”
Elliott added: “This is one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest. Wherever we go in the world the fanbase is incredible.
“They always come out in great numbers and tonight was a prime example of that. For the new players, it’s really nice for them to see and excites them even more.
“Endo is a warrior on the training pitch and in the games. He’s the first person to throw his body on the line. To have him in the squad is incredible. You feel safe having someone like that behind you. We call him the destroyer!
