Chelsea are interested in signing Brentford midfielder Jordan Henderson as they look to add experience and leadership to their squad, according to Sky Sports.
The Blues are among several Premier League clubs monitoring the 36-year-old, who has impressed since returning to England from Ajax in 2025. Henderson also remains part of Thomas Tuchel’s England setup.
Brentford made it clear when signing Henderson that they would not stand in his way if a major club came calling.
While he could be allowed to leave on a free transfer, that is not guaranteed if multiple clubs enter the race. He has one year remaining on his contract.
Chelsea value Henderson’s leadership, character and experience after missing out on Sunderland midfielder Granit Xhaka earlier this summer.
The former Liverpool captain is also understood to be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.
Henderson made 32 Premier League appearances last season, scoring once and providing three assists.
He was included in England’s squad for this summer’s World Cup in North America but made just one appearance before suffering a broken radius while celebrating England’s last-16 victory over Mexico.
The injury required surgery and ruled him out of the final three matches, although he still collected a bronze medal after England’s third-place play-off win over France.
