Liverpool have confirmed their retained and released list for the 2026/27 season, with a number of academy players set to leave the club when their contracts expire this month.
First-team stars Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate, along with defender Rhys Williams, have already announced their departures.
Eight academy players will also leave the club: Kareem Ahmed, Emmanuel Airoboma, James Balagizi, DJ Bernard, Oakley Cannonier, Josh Davidson, Terence Miles and Jacob Poytress.
Cannonier is best known for his role as a ballboy during Liverpool’s famous 4-0 Champions League semi-final win over Barcelona in 2019, quickly supplying the ball for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner that led to Divock Origi’s decisive goal.
Liverpool also confirmed that contract offers have been made to Prince Cisse, Keyrol Figueroa, Kyle Kelly, Afolami Onanuga, Oliver O’Connor, Lucas Pitt, Ben Trueman and Matthew Wright.
Robertson is set to join Tottenham Hotspur upon the expiry of his contract, while Konate is expected to move to Real Madrid. Salah’s next destination remains unclear, with all three senior players due to feature at this month’s World Cup in North America.
A statement on Liverpool’s official website said: “Everybody at the club would like to thank the players for all their contributions and wish each of them the best for the future.”
