Liverpool return to Premier League action on Boxing Day with the visit of Leicester City for an evening kick-off at 8pm.
However, the Reds are still awaiting news on the return of several key players.
Ibrahima Konate hasn’t featured since suffering a knee injury during the closing stages of the Champions League win over Real Madrid at Anfield a month ago.
The France international was struck by a poor challenge from Real substitute Endrick and has since missed six games.
Initial reports suggested the centre-back is unlikely to be available until the New Year at the earliest.
Conor Bradley, who also picked up a hamstring injury late in the same match, has been sidelined for a month as well, with a similar prognosis to Konate.
Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa was absent from the squad for Liverpool’s 6-3 Premier League win at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The summer arrival from Juventus had made his fourth appearance for Liverpool in the 2-1 Carabao Cup win at Southampton just four days earlier but was ruled out for the Tottenham match due to a cold.
The Reds are prepared to monitor Chiesa’s recovery before deciding on his involvement against Leicester.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot remains hopeful of having an otherwise full-strength squad to choose from.
Diogo Jota came through a substitute appearance at Tottenham, while Kostas Tsimikas was once again fit enough to be included on the bench.
