Kieran Morrison has completed a loan move to Sheffield Wednesday for the 2026-27 season. The 19-year-old Liverpool attacker joins the League One club to gain further senior experience.
Morrison joined Liverpool at Under-14 level after starting his youth career at Manchester United. He progressed through the academy and made his Under-21 debut in January 2023.
He made his Liverpool first-team debut in a Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace last season, making two senior appearances during the campaign.
Kieran Morrison enjoyed an impressive 2025-26 season, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists for Liverpool Under-21s. His form earned him a nomination for the Premier League 2 Player of the Year award.
He signed a new four-year contract with Liverpool in May before making his senior Northern Ireland debut in a 4-0 win over Guinea in June.
Morrison will wear the No. 20 shirt at Sheffield Wednesday and is available for their first home league game of the season against Bradford City on Thursday.
He said: “It’s a massive club with great history and even better fans, so I’m glad to get it over the line and I’m excited to play in front of everyone.

“Everyone knows that the rebuild is now and I want to be part of it. It’s a great squad in a competitive league but I feel like we can do really well in this league and I want to help in any way possible.
“Henrik was speaking to me and just gave me his idea of what he wants to happen, and he sold it to me. I’ve just wanted it to come ever since.
“He wasn’t really talking about my footballing ability, he was just talking to me as a person. He wants me to become a better person, so that was eye-opening because I didn’t expect it from the gaffer.
“A lot of gaffers don’t do that, but the only thing he was saying was, at the end of the loan, what type of person would you want to become.

“He’s a great guy and I can’t wait to play under him.
“I want to show to the fans and show to the gaffer and show to everyone why the gaffer wanted to sign me and why I belong here.”
Sporting Director, Simon Wilson, added: “Kieran is a player with huge potential – and he has already represented his country and made his mark around Liverpool’s first team. During his time with us, he will benefit from playing in front of huge crowds in a high intensity pressing team that wants to play and run forward, just like he is being asked at Liverpool.
“Equally, we hope to get the value of his quality in his time with us and send him back a better player and a better person. It was the shortest player call we have ever had – Kieran’s enthusiasm for coming here was extremely strong and he cannot wait to get started.”
