Liverpool forward Lewis Koumas is on the verge of joining Birmingham City on a season-long loan, according to The Athletic.
The two clubs are close to finalising an agreement for the 19-year-old, with a medical expected to take place before the move is confirmed.
The deal will be a straight loan with no option to buy.
The transfer is not expected to be completed in time for Koumas to feature this weekend when Birmingham face Oxford United in the Championship.
The Wales international attracted interest from several Championship clubs this summer but has opted to join the newly-promoted side.
Koumas spent last season on loan at Stoke City, where he made 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
He has made one senior competitive appearance for Liverpool, marking his debut with a goal in a 3-0 FA Cup fourth-round victory over Southampton in February 2024.
The move to St Andrew’s is seen as an ideal opportunity for Koumas to gain further first-team experience with a club that harbours promotion ambitions.
It has already been a busy summer for Birmingham, who have added 11 new players to their squad, including Tommy Doyle on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, former Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi, and ex-Leicester City winger Demarai Gray.
