Liverpool midfielder Tommy Pilling has completed a permanent transfer to Slovakian top-flight side MFK Zemplín Michalovce, subject to international clearance.
The 21-year-old leaves the Reds after spending his entire youth career at the club, having joined Liverpool’s Academy at the age of five.
A versatile midfielder, Pilling progressed through the Academy ranks and became a regular for both the U18s and U21s in recent seasons.
His development was rewarded with a senior appearance as a substitute during Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against Athletic Club in August 2025.
He was also named on the first-team bench for two League Cup fixtures at Anfield last season.
“First I received a message from an unknown number saying that MFK Zemplín was interested in my services and was ready with an offer. I immediately started researching information about the club,” Tommy Pilling revealed how the first contact with the Michalovce team occurred.
“When I first came to the new environment, I was surprised. There is a good background here and a really good chance to improve.
“That is exactly the goal I came here with. I want to improve as a player and a person and make the most of this opportunity. I am excited about this challenge.
“I would say that I am calm with the ball and I work hard even without it. I am creative, I have a good range of passes and I have no problem playing in tight spaces.”
