Liverpool in negotiations with Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez
Kerkez has impressed since joining Bournemouth in July 2023
Liverpool are in active negotiations with Bournemouth over their talented left-back Milos Kerkez, according to M4 Sport.
The Cherries have been on an upward trajectory since appointing Andoni Iraola as their head coach last summer, and they are now aiming to build on their best-ever Premier League finish of 12th place last season.
Iraola’s men have continued their strong form this term, already claiming the scalps of Arsenal and Manchester City.
The performances of some of their star players, including Milos Kerkez, have not gone unnoticed.
Kerkez has impressed since joining Bournemouth in July 2023, and the 21-year-old Hungary international is now attracting interest from some of the Premier League’s top clubs.
Reports suggest that Liverpool are actively searching for a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, who has struggled to regain his best form this season.
Kerkez caught the eye during Bournemouth’s recent victory over Manchester City, with Iraola singling him out post-match after the defender assisted both of the team’s goals.
He said: “For me it’s very important how he closed the game because a lot of times we’ve had to sub him because he was not finishing with the same energy.
“I think he’s adding these small things to his game to finish strong, do your job defensively, suffer even when you are tired and the team needs you there.”
