Milos Kerkez believes the international break could help Liverpool regain form ahead of Sunday’s clash with Manchester United.
The Reds are seeking to end a run of three straight defeats that cost them top spot in the Premier League.
Several Liverpool players impressed for their countries, with Cody Gakpo, Alexis Mac Allister, and Mohamed Salah all scoring twice or more.
Kerkez, who featured twice for Hungary, says the squad’s morale is high.
Liverpool haven’t lost four in a row since 2014 and remain unbeaten at home to United since 2016.
Kerkez, ever-present since his £40m move from Bournemouth, hopes to keep his place ahead of Andy Robertson and believes Anfield’s atmosphere can spur the team to victory.
“Everyone is really with a lot of positive energy back,” he said. “A lot of the lads had good performances and good wins with their national teams so we’re really looking forward to it.
“It’s a big game, it means everything for the club to win.
“Obviously that (run of defeats) was tough. But everyone is in shape and I saw everyone back with full energy and full focus and we are really ready to turn things around.”
“I always feel different when I’m playing in Anfield, to be honest – I get a lot of energy and I’m not really feeling too tired with the adrenaline,” added Milos Kerkez.
“I know the fans will get behind us as always and they really, really give us a lot of boost, a lot of energy. So, it’s going to be a big one and obviously we want to give back to the fans, to the club, the victory.”
“Everyone came back fit and it’s going to be really important.
“We’re going to need everyone: the fans, the players who are starting, (the players) who are not starting, and we go for three points.”
