Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has revealed that a resolution on his contract situation is still “far away,” leaving fans anxiously awaiting news about his future at Anfield.

Salah delivered a stellar performance at the London Stadium, earning the player-of-the-match award as Liverpool thrashed West Ham 5-0 to close out the calendar year in style.

The Egyptian forward scored a goal and provided assists for Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota, underlining his importance to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

However, off the pitch, uncertainty looms.

Salah is one of three Liverpool players whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the season, alongside captain Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

“No, we are far away from that,” Salah told Sky Sports.

“I don’t want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff, but nothing really [has] moved on but for now I’m focused on the team and hopefully we win the Premier League”

Salah delivered a dazzling performance at the London Stadium, a stark contrast to his previous visit in April, which was marred by tension with then-manager Jurgen Klopp.

He scored one goal and provided assists for Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota as the Reds cruised to a 5-0 victory over West Ham, closing the calendar year on a high.

“I will do my best for the team to win the trophy,” Salah said.

“There is a few other teams catching up with us and we need to stay focused and humble and go again.

“I am just trying to enjoy the game. At the end of the day I came here for the result and I wanted to do something in the game, but I am almost hungry for more.”
