Paris Saint-Germain ordered to pay Kylian Mbappe €55m
Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer following the expiration of his PSG contract
Paris Saint-Germain have been ordered by a French court to pay former star Kylian Mbappe €55million (£46million) in unpaid wages, following an unsuccessful appeal by the club.
This ruling, delivered by the French league’s appeals commission, mandates PSG to settle the significant sum despite their prior insistence that they owed Mbappe nothing.
The case centered around PSG’s claim of a verbal agreement with the French forward, under which Mbappe allegedly agreed to forego certain bonuses in exchange for a return to the starting lineup.
However, Kylian Mbappe dismissed an attempt at mediation, leading the commission to rule in his favor.
With PSG’s appeal now rejected, Mbappe is expected to receive his overdue payment in the coming period.
The LFP told the Associated Press: “The club (PSG) must pay him the parts of his salary he is claiming.
“This decision is not subject to (further) appeal, but can be raised before the executive committee of the FFF (French soccer Federation).”
Kylian Mbappe is poised to make his highly anticipated debut in El Clásico as Real Madrid prepare to face Barcelona.
The talented striker will be looking to make a significant impact in this historic rivalry.
