Real Madrid will be without six star players for Liverpool clash

The reigning European champions will visit Anfield on Wednesday night for the highly anticipated fixture

Real Madrid have announced a 19-man squad for their Champions League clash with Liverpool, leaving out several key players due to injuries.

The reigning European champions will visit Anfield on Wednesday night for the highly anticipated fixture.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti will be without Vinicius Junior and Aurelien Tchouameni.

It was confirmed on Monday that Vinicius faces a month on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury during Sunday’s win over Leganes.

Tchouameni also remains unavailable, compounding Madrid’s injury problems.

Despite earlier doubts, Lucas Vazquez has surprisingly been included in the traveling squad after recovering quicker than expected from an adductor injury.

However, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, and Rodrygo are all missing, forcing Madrid to field a reduced squad.

The ongoing injury crisis means Ancelotti couldn’t name a full 23-man matchday squad.

To bolster the numbers, Castilla players Raul Asencio, Gonzalo Garcia, and Fran Gonzalez have been called up.

While Asencio has already made two first-team appearances this season, Garcia and Gonzalez are yet to feature.

Despite their injury woes, Real Madrid can still count on stars like Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, both previously linked with Liverpool, to spearhead their challenge against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
