Ruben Amorim opens up on Marcus Rashford’s return date amid Manchester United exile

Rashford was left out of the Man United squad once again for Premier League game against Bournemouth

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has shown no urgency to resolve Marcus Rashford’s uncertain future as the January transfer window looms.

Rashford was once again omitted from United’s squad during their humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.

The 27-year-old forward has now missed three consecutive matches and was seen watching from the Old Trafford stands, dressed in a club tracksuit, as United suffered yet another setback.

The England international recently expressed his desire for a “new challenge,” and United are reportedly open to selling him if their £40 million valuation is met in January.

Despite this, Amorim has maintained publicly that Rashford’s career at the club is not over.

However, following the Bournemouth loss, the manager declined to offer the player any clarity about his role or future with the team.

Amorim’s reluctance to reintegrate Rashford or provide concrete answers leaves United and their forward in a state of limbo, adding another layer of uncertainty to an already tumultuous season for the Red Devils.

“It’s my decision and it always will be,” Amorim said.

“It is selection. I want to see the best of my players and I try different things with different players.

“That’s my focus.”

Manchester United currently sit 13th in the Premier League, having managed just six wins from their 17 matches this season.

Their inconsistent form has made the upcoming Boxing Day trip to face struggling Wolves at Molineux a must-win encounter.

Rashford’s exclusion has raised eyebrows, with manager Ruben Amorim leaving the forward out of key fixtures, including the 2-1 derby victory over Manchester City, the 4-3 Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, and the recent 3-0 loss to Bournemouth.

When pressed about whether Rashford’s exile would continue against Wolves, Amorim remained noncommittal, offering a cryptic response: “It depends. We will see.”
