Saudi Pro League clubs keen on signing Mohamed Salah in January

The Egyptian forward hinted he may say his “goodbyes” when Liverpool host Brighton at Anfield on Saturday

Mohamed Salah is on the radar of multiple Saudi Pro League clubs, according to talkSPORT.

The Egyptian forward hinted he may say his “goodbyes” when Liverpool host Brighton at Anfield on Saturday.

Salah will depart for AFCON after that game, with his Liverpool future increasingly uncertain.

His comments that he has been “thrown under the bus” by the club and that his relationship with Arne Slot has broken down have only intensified speculation.

Liverpool continue to back Slot and left Mohamed Salah out of the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

However, as things stand, Liverpool remain committed to keeping Salah for the remainder of his contract.

Following the game in Italy, discussions will take place over whether he will be involved against Brighton.

The club view Salah’s omission from the Champions League squad as a pragmatic, short-term response to his remarks at Elland Road.

No further disciplinary measures are expected, with Liverpool now placing the responsibility on Salah to clarify his intentions.

Saudi side Al-Hilal remain interested, having seriously explored a deal for the 33-year-old before the Club World Cup. But they are far from alone.

NEOM FC hold a concrete interest, and Christophe Galtier’s side are prepared to move if Salah becomes genuinely available in January and, crucially, if a deal is financially feasible.

Al-Qadsiah are also closely monitoring developments and would be able to self-fund a transfer without support from the Ministry of Sport.

Backed by Aramco, they are quickly emerging as a major force in the Saudi Pro League.

Saudi Pro League sporting director Michael Emenalo is expected to play a key role in any move, given his strong relationship with Salah.

Senior Saudi sports officials view Salah as a potential global poster boy for the league, someone capable of maintaining worldwide interest once Cristiano Ronaldo’s time in the competition ends, currently expected in summer 2027.

Consequently, Mohamed Salah would be offered one of the largest pay packages in world football. With wages, bonuses and additional earnings included, he could earn around £175million per season.

Liverpool, however, are still planning with Salah through to summer 2027.

Their all-time top scorer would need to present clear exit plans to shift the club’s stance, and Liverpool are not expected to make concessions, including waiving any transfer fee.

Al-Ittihad previously made a £150million offer, including £50 million in add-ons, in summer 2023, but FSG chief Mike Gordon rejected the bid.
