Liverpool will aim to preserve their flawless start to the Champions League campaign when they host reigning champions Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The Reds are the only team to have won all four group-stage games so far, leading their group.
In contrast, Real Madrid, defending their title, have already suffered two defeats.
The clash is a rematch of the 2018 and 2022 Champions League finals, both of which saw Liverpool defeated by the Spanish giants.
On Tuesday afternoon, Liverpool’s preparations continued at the AXA Training Centre, with the squad receiving a major boost as Trent Alexander-Arnold returned to full training.
The right-back, who missed Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Southampton due to a low-grade hamstring injury sustained against Aston Villa earlier this month, is now in contention to start against Real Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold’s return is timely, especially amid reports linking the Madrid-based club with interest in his services next summer.
Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa, Liverpool’s summer signing from Juventus, is edging closer to a return.
The Italian forward has not featured since September due to fitness issues and the demands of adapting to English football.
However, Chiesa made significant progress by rejoining first-team training on Friday.
On Tuesday, after a separate warm-up with fitness staff, he participated fully in the regular session, offering a positive sign for his recovery.
In contrast, Alisson Becker remains sidelined with a hamstring tear suffered in early October against Crystal Palace.
While the Brazilian goalkeeper has resumed gym work, Liverpool are cautious about his return and did not include him in Tuesday’s training session.
Elsewhere, Harvey Elliott and Jayden Danns continued their returns from long-term injuries, with both actively involved in training.
Kostas Tsimikas, who sustained an ankle knock last week, was absent and is expected to miss a short period.
As anticipated, it is also too early for Diogo Jota to be considered for action.
With Liverpool’s injury list reduced to three, only Jayden Danns represented the Academy in Tuesday’s session.
Trey Nyoni, a 17-year-old midfielder who has made two Champions League squads this season, trained with the Academy ahead of their UEFA Youth League fixture against Real Madrid on Wednesday afternoon.
Liverpool will hope their bolstered squad depth can help them secure another victory against their historic rivals and maintain their perfect record in Europe.
